CYP model CDM-640 Digital High Resolution
3-in-1
Standards Converter, Multi-standard Time Base Corrector and VGA Up-Converter
See CDM-640A if you don't need the up-converter
Standards Converter |
The CYP CDM-640 accepts PAL, PALM, PALN, NTSC, NTSC443 & SECAM input as Composite or S-Video. It then comb-filters, level adjusts, resamples and stabilises the signal (completely removing all video interference such as copy protection pulses) to output whatever standard you select. Input standard selection can be Automatic or Manual.
Multi-standard TBC |
When the input and output standards are the same (e.g. PAL in and PAL out) the unit functions as a high-quality adjustable Timebase Corrector.
Multiple Resolution |
The input video can be output as VGA 640x480, 800x600 or 1024x768. Most importantly, with 50Hz standards such as PAL and SECAM, the field rate is also up-converted to 60Hz for full VGA compatibility and no 50Hz flicker!
S-Video (Y/C) |
Because the CDM-640 has S-Video inputs the higher picture quality of S-Video is maintained. A digital comb-filter converts Composite video input to high quality Y/C for internal processing and improved picture quality.
VGA Input |
The VGA input is not processed by the CDM-640, it is switched to the VGA output when the video outputs are in use. This saves having to swap the VGA monitor or projector from the PC to the CDM-640.
Steady Levels |
An automatic gain control (AGC) keeps the output levels normal even if the input level is high or low or changing. Range of control:- 4:1
S-Video, Composite |
Either the video outputs (S-Video and Composite are present simultaneously) or the VGA output can be selected.
Adjustments |
Front-panel user-adjustable settings for Brightness, Contrast, Colour Saturation and Tint (NTSC only) of the video input as well as H and V size (for up-converting only) are provided. There is also an overscan / underscan switch for optimum viewing. These settings are retained when the unit is off.
Colour Bars |
When there is no video input, the CDM-640 outputs 100% colour bars in the selected output standard.
