S-Video (Y/C) |
Because the CDM-820 has S-Video inputs and outputs the higher picture quality of S-Video is retained. A digital comb-filter converts Composite video input to Y/C for internal processing. S-Video and Composite outputs are present at all times. | |

An automatic gain control (AGC) keeps the output level normal even if the input level is high or low | |

Dual-standard TBC |
When set for PAL to PAL the CDM-820 is a very effective Timebase Corrector. Can also be used as a TBC in NTSC to NTSC mode. | |
No Adjustments |
The CDM-820's conversion process is fully automatic. | |
Colour Bars |
When there is no input, the CDM-820 can be set to automatically output either 100% colour bars or colour black. The colour bars are very handy for testing purposes and the black for "striping" tapes prior to insert editing. | |
