CTB-100G Gen-lockable Multi-standard Timebase Corrector
What's Gen-lock mean? |
Basically it means that the output of this equipment can be synchronised or "locked" to another video signal.
Why would I do that? |
In order to use some high-end video mixers and video switching equipment it is necessary for all video inputs to be synchronised. Normally, VCRs and DVD players don't have genlock inputs, so the CTB-100G makes it possible to use them in a professional environment.
Multistandard |
Works with PAL and NTSC (and their variants) as well as SECAM
What does it do? |
- It totally ELIMINATES
non-standard "junk" pulses which cause the picture to go light and dark and/or
unstable, making the picture 100% standard again. - STABILISES the jitters and amplitude variations that you get, e.g. when playing a tape or DVD. - Completely REGENERATES new, stable sync pulses and colourburst for the cleanest video signal you're ever likely to get. - Allows you to adjust the brightness, contrast, colour saturation, tint (NTSC only) and sharpness so that YOU CONTROL THE PICTURE QUALITY. |
|
How do you use it? |
Just plug it in-line with the COMPOSITE or S-VIDEO output of your VCR or DVD player, connect the power supply and then you are in control of your video quality. If you need to synchronise to another video signal, connect that to the genlock input on the rear. NOTE: The video standard needs to be the same.
How does it work? |
The CTB-100G is a digital instrument. The input video is sampled into memory in real-time, manipulated digitally to automatically remove unwanted pulses, timing errors and level variations, adjusted to your requirements and then converted back to analogue composite and s-video with completely new and rock-solid broadcast-standard sync that is synchronised to a video signal connected to the Genlock input. Also works as a normal TBC without a genlock input.
