Quest AV model DCS3 Component Video and Audio Distribution Amplifier

This is the Quest AV model DCS3 three output component video and stereo audio distribution amplifier, designed and manufactured by Quest Electronics Pty Limited in Australia.

COMPONENT VIDEO - The video section of the DCS3 is for component video (also known as Y/U/V - Y/Pb/Pr, Y/Cr/Cb - Y/r-y/b-y or sometimes R/Gs/B) and has colour-coded trios of RCA / phono sockets for the inputs and outputs. All video inputs and outputs are 75 ohms. The circuit design features low noise and very high resolution to preserve the quality of  video from high-res sources such as DVD players and professional video equipment. There is an additional output in the form of a high-density 15-pin 'd-sub' especially to feed component video to projectors, lcd and plasma displays using this type of connector for their component input. All four outputs (3 x 3 x RCA/Phono, 1 x D15HD) can be used simultaneously. The three video amplifiers have internal gain adjustments with up to 6dB of extra gain boost - more than enough to drive the longest cables!

AUDIO - The stereo audio section features:- RCA/Phono sockets, separate front-panel multi-turn preset-style controls for left and right levels, three low impedance stereo outputs capable of driving long cables, very low noise and distortion, and wide bandwidth.

POWER - The DCS3 is provided with a 12Vdc mains adaptor, and can also be powered from a negative ground DC supply between 10V and 30Vdc without any effect on the performance of the unit. Power useage is less than 1.5W with a 12Vdc supply. The dc input is reverse polarity protected.
